Laurie Norton graduated with an M.A. in Theatre from
Villanova in 1998. Prior to graduate school, she lived
and worked in the Pacific Northwest, where her
favorite roles included Abigail in The Crucible, Chris
in Dancing at Lughnasa, and Patty in Season's
Greetings. She received her B.F.A. in Acting from The
College of Santa Fe where she was awarded the Greer
Garson Award for Theatre Excellence and was a
participant in the British-American Drama Academy
exchange program. During her graduate years at
Villanova, she appeared in The Art of Dining, In The
Boom Boom Room, Angels in America (for which she was
nominated for a Barrymore Award for the role of
Harper), The Devil's Disciple, and Racing Demon. She
was the 1998 recipient of the Brian Morgan Acting
Award. She currently teaches Fundamental Principles
of Acting here at Villanova. Her Philadelphia acting
credits include: Simpatico, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's
Nest, Seventy Scenes of Halloween (Iron Age Theatre),
The Invention of Love (The Wilma Theatre), Twelfth
Night (Amaryllis Theatre), and Man Measure Man
(InterAct).
